Today was tub time with Mamma and Daddy. The tub looks like a clear shoe box and the label on it says "tiny tub" - no kidding. Daddy did most of the work tonight and baby Gerard just loved it! He looks a bit distressed in some of the photos, but that's the red light on the camera causing that problem. He was wide-eyed and calm throughout the process. No fussing or crying tonight at all. His heartrate was lower tonight, but respirations still erratic. Getting even less oxygen support, which is good.
We also tried some "non-nutritive" feeding tonight, which came as a surprise to me. The nurse on staff is one of the lactation specialists, so she was eager. I just got thrown in to that one blindsighted, but both he and I did OK for the first time. He fell asleep, of course... Next week we try the real deal.
